This cemetery is close to the town centre. If you are travelling by car or on foot, useful landmarks are Watford General Hospital and Watford Football ground, both of which are situated near the cemetery, in Vicarage Road.  There is little space for parking within the cemetery and parking in nearby streets is limited with controlled parking in place.

Vicarage Road Cemetery was opened in 1858, and although no unused ground is now available for purchase, funerals still take place to re-open existing graves.  The cemetery, which covers 15 acres, mainly comprises lawn areas within both the Consecrated and Dedicated sections of the cemetery.  There is also an area for the burial of cremated remains. Read the Conservation Area Character Appraisal >
